Economics Matters is a blog run by students and faculty of the Department of Economics, Stella Maris College, Chennai. The objective of this department is to equip students with conceptual and theoretical tools, as well as quantitative and qualitative techniques which will help them analyze current economic trends and phenomena.
Started on 19th February 2012, this blog provides an opportunity for students to express their understanding of the nuances of the subject and widen their perspective, enabling them to apply their knowledge in practical affairs. Through one dimension of thought, it can be seen as an extension of learning - that which moves out of the classroom and into the realities of the economy outside. This encourages discussion and healthy debate among students and faculty, opening their outreach to the rest of the world.
